Saturn's Shadow

Storyletter #14

Dear story snacker,

Science Fiction is a weird genre.

When I think of Sci-Fi, I think of space ships, time travel and alien encounters. However, in a lot of libraries Fantasy is lumped in with Sci-Fi, which isn’t right at all because the two genres are very distinct. Here’s a hack to always know if a book under the Sci-Fi blanket is really Sci-Fi or actually Fantasy:

Fantasy books have trees on the cover, Science Fiction books have metal and bolts on the cover.

I won’t charge for that bit of wisdom, but only because I haven’t figured out how to link Venmo to this page.

While I Google ‘how to exploit my readers for profit’, please enjoy part 1 of my newest Sci-Fi (metal and bolts) short story:

SATURN’S SHADOW
