The Sea of Everything BUT Tranquility
Storyletter #15
Dear story snacker,
The one time I ever worked as a restaurant host was a packed Friday night, which felt similar to snorkeling with sharks while wearing a tuna-and-flounder wetsuit.
In both situations you never stop moving, try to breath, and hope you don’t end up as the night’s special.
After surviving the night, I wound myself down with one of my favorite activities: making up stories in my head. I believe that night I lost myself in a tale about an ant who was also a knight on a quest to slay a dragonfly.
How do you wind down after a wildly busy day? Do you read, listen, think, talk or take a brisk stroll? If you’d like, let me know by return email. I’d love to know.
Speaking of tranquility, let’s get back to our space bound adventure Saturn’s Shadow!

SATURN’S SHADOW
Part 2

“A. Theo-3!” barked a metallic voice from down the corridor. Prison guard and prisoner both turned to see a tall figure in a black armored exo-suit and featureless red helmet striding toward them, shoving a jumpsuited prisoner before it.
Argus snapped to attention at the sight of the red helmet, while Dante’s entire body stiffened with a shock of hatred. There were thousands of guards on Kronos’ rings, but only a dozen myrmidons.
The scar tissue on Dante’s face itched as he remembered a burning room, the window’s glass behind him flexing in the heat as he stared in terror at the thing in the black armor coming toward him, the charred shapes on the floor that had once had names reflected in its smooth, scarlet helm.
